Where extortionate wealth has capitalised the habitable land on earth, a lunar colony has been established to extract much needed resources. Functioning under a structured regime, the children’s only place is in an adopted family of six, with two guardians leading a ‘pod’. In an effort to promote a sense of community, the colony shares a unique sonic building experience as a cyclic ritual. Paying homage to the rising of the sun every 28 days, each family weaves floating dismantle-able solar instruments. Consequently, stacked up as towering totems during monthly communal gatherings, they mark the colony working as a whole.
